Redistricting Method/Info
Congressional and state legislative district lines are drawn by the Oklahoma State Legislature. These lines may be vetoed by the governor. A 7 member commission draws the state legislative boundaries if the legislature is unable to approve. The governor appoints one R and one D; the majority leaders of the state senate and house each appoint one R and one D and the lieutenant governor serves as a non-voting member. There are 5 congressional, 48 state senate and 101 state house districts.
