Bills that would allow the legislature or some other party to intervene in or direct the course of election-related litigation, or that would limit the ability of parties to such litigation to reach a settlement without the involvement or approval of a non-party.

These provisions unnecessarily inject partisanship into election-related court proceedings and will likely lead to protracted and costly litigation in the run-up to every election, all at taxpayers’ expense.
